Scriptophobia or Graphophobia

Script means writing while phobia means fear. Scriptophobia is the fear of writing in public or in general (graphophobia).


This kind of phobia is less common unlike phobia like cyanophobia. It is not common but some have it. This has forced those who have this phobia to get involved in careers that involve little or no writing

Symptoms of Scriptophobia

Increased heart rate
Muscle tension
Their physiology prepare them for a fight or flight response due to them perceiving that they are in danger
Fear of being in an educational institution or workplace with writing involved
Feelings of dread
Fear of being ridiculed
Mood swings
Socially withdrawn
Lack of concentration
Incapacitated to enjoy the company of their partners at work or school

Consuming less caffeine
Exposure Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Working out
Visit a doctor
