How do you feel when someone around you is feeling sad, afraid, depressed? Do you feel the person’s pain or you feel less concerned?

Empathy is the ability to emotionally understand what other people feel, see things from their point of view, putting yourself in their position. Empathy is different from kindness or pity.

Empathy helps us to co-operate with others, build friendship, have a good relationship, and also intervene when others are bullied.

Types of Empathy
Cognitive Empathy
It is the knowledge of how another person feels or thinks. It is also called perspective-taking. It is majorly concerned with thought, understanding, and intellect. It helps in negotiation, motivating others and also ideal for virtual meetings
Emotional Empathy
It is when you feel physically with others, feeling their emotions. It has to do with feelings, physical sensation. It helps in careers like coaching, management, marketing, and HR. It can at times be overwhelming, when it becomes overwhelming, it is called emotional overload.
Compassionate Empathy
With this kind of empathy, we do not only understand a person’s problem and feel with them but are also moved to assist them.
